Hi Trish,
what great advice. I know in internet marketing one little thing, tweak, change can translate into a big difference. I have finally starting developing the habit of commenting, so any tip that can generate results is greatly appreciated.
You're the best!

I for one am glad you mentioned some blog owners not allowing pure keywords in the name field - name@KW's is usually accepted though.

I actually am here because you did use your real name; read my policy? ;) And so I had to visit here as well. I also subscribed. :)

Hi Iris,

When I refer to using a pen name, I'm really only talking about when commenting on other people's blog so as to get attention from the readers.

On your own blog, I have to say I have to say that it could be a stumbling block to gaining trust from your readers. If you are going to use a pen name on your blog, use a proper name that isn't yours. The man behind www.DoubleYourDating.com is a guy called Eban Pagan, a fantastic marketer but, uses the pen name David DeAngelo on his site.

See my post http://www.blogmarketingmix.com/eban-pagans-ebook-publishing-business-model and watch the video for his suggestions on using a pen name.

Hope this helps.

Trish,

FlyGirl is my pen name but I'm not sure how I should use it effectively to grow a loyal list of followers on my health and fitness blog. There's one group that thinks it will work against you being able to build trust and transparency with your readers. However, there are those who think, like you mentioned in this blog post, that it raises a level of curiosity that my result in an increase of readers.

I'm a very private person, however, on my blog, I want to be very real and transparent when I speak about my own health conditions in my blog posts. If I do, I will be divulging a lot of information I may not necessarily want floating around in cyberspace, tied to my real name. I haven't committed any crimes or anything but there's always the concern about personal safety and protecting the privacy and safety of your family.

What are your thoughts on that?
